Soccer / National teams / Kashtan names squad for Chile
By Moshe Boker and Moshe Harush
Dror Kashtan yesterday announced his squad for the national soccer team's friendly against Chile next Wednesday, and for the first time he included 17-year-old Barcelona B player Guy Asulin, and left Arik Benado, Idan Tal, Michael Zandberg and Yaniv Katan off the list.
"It's strange that I was not called up," said Benado, "but on the other hand, I am not surprised. There have been previous occasions when I wasn't called up. Therefore, you would have to ask Dror the reason; there is not much I can do about it."

Michael Zandberg has also become accustomed to being left out. "I think I deserve to be on the national team, but it doesn't really matter that much," he said. "I don't have to answer the question of why I wasn't called up."
After consulting with under-21 team coach Guy Levi, Kashtan decided to pass on Yuval Shpungin and Ben Sahar in favor of the under-21 team.
The squad: Dudu Awat, Nir Davidovich, Yoav Ziv, Klemi Saban, Tal Ben Haim, Avi Strul, Shimon Gershon, Tomer Ben Yosef, Dedi Ben Dayan, Gal Alberman, Tamir Cohen, Aviram Bruchian, Moshe Ohayon, Yossi Benayoun, Elyaniv Barda, Omer Golan, Amit Ben Shushan, Barak Yitzhaki, Guy Asulin.
