Before the court session, Ron told his lawyer said that he was pleased Rose's body was eventually discovered.

"I am happy they found it." Ron said, a week after the body was discovered by divers.

Police were given until Monday to serve an indictment against Ron, who has been remanded in custody since August 12.

Marie collapsed when she was approached by reporters before the hearing, but she was not in need of hospital treatment.

Earlier Thursday, Rose's body was flown to France for burial at the request of her father and paternal grandmother, who both live there.
