This is so good with a piece of cheese at the end of a meal. I also like it with ice cream (but I like ice cream with almost anything....................). Have also used it with turkey, in and on a cake. Very versatile.

1 cup (change servings and units)

    Peel and deseed the pears.
  2. 2
    Cut the pears into cubes.
  3. 3
    Deseed and finely chop the chili.
  4. 4
    Put 1/2 cup of sugar in a saucepan.
  5. 5
    Heat the sugar (on low heat) until it becomes light brown.
  6. 6
    Add pears, chili, 3 tablespoons sugar and balsamic vinegar.
  7. 7
    Mix and cook, uncovered, on low heat for about 15 minutes.

    Add raisins and cook another 2 minutes.
  9. 9
    Chill and keep refridgerated.
