A 38-year-old woman and mother of eight was indicted in Bersheba District Court on Sunday on charges of having sexual intercourse with two of her sons, aged 11 and eight.
According to the indictment, the woman lay naked on her bed with a head covering only, ordered one of the boys to take his clothes off and forced him to have intercourse with her.
She then did the same with the younger one. She was also charged with forcing them to watch pornographic films with her.
In a feature article published Sunday, Yediot Ahronot wrote that the woman had been diagnosed as schizophrenic and mentally retarded.
The family was known to the welfare authorities in the towns they lived but the children continued to live with their parents until 2006.
After that, even though the mother was prohibited from seeing her children without supervision, three of the boys who had been sent to a boarding school went home to their mother - who had subsequently divorced - every weekend without anyone stopping them. It was then that they were allegedly raped.
