Man killed as car hits horse in Wadi Ara

A man was killed and two others were injured Thursday night when a car hit a horse at Mei Ami junction, in Wadi Ara.

The man was identifed as Talal Gizmawi, 63, from Kfar Kara.

His nine-year-old granddaughter was in critical condition following the accident and a woman was seriously hurt.

They were trapped in the car before being extracted by rescue forces and evacuated to Rambam Hospital in Haifa.

The three were traveling on Route 65, towards Umm el-Fahm.

Police were investigating the circumstances of the incident.

On Thursday, motorcyclist Yaniv Ozna, 37, succumbed to his injuries the day after colliding with a donkey near Ma'aleh Adumim. He leaves behind a wife and three children.

On Wednesday, five people were killed in road accidents across the country.
