MKs Gilad Erdan (Likud) and Yoel Hasson (Kadima) will join a flight of North American olim coming to Israel in September through the Nefesh B'Nefesh organization.

The two MKs are co-chairmen of the Knesset Caucus for Western Aliya, founded earlier this year to help promote aliya from the West through legislation and advocacy in the Knesset.

"We're going to send a clear message to the new olim that we're not bringing them here and forgetting about them," said Erdan. "We're talking about a population that can immediately begin to contribute to the country and the economy. It's important to make their aliya simpler and easier."

Erdan added that he did not intend to sleep on the flight, "but to learn the problems of the families and open doors for them in Israel."

The flight will leave John F. Kennedy Airport in New York on September 7.
