Departing under-21 coach just wants to enjoy the moment
By Moshe Harush

The word experience in various forms was the motive for outgoing coach Guy Levi's press conference yesterday ahead of the national under-21 team's European championship qualifying match against Moldova tonight, his last match in charge.

Only a victory will cap his tenure with a sweet taste in his mouth and bequeath to his replacement a squad in good shape with a chance to qualify for the European championship for the second consecutive time.

On the other hand, if you judge by his statements, it is possible that a victory over the Moldovans is not the most important thing. Levi is interested in the process, the enjoyment, the excitement. And also, yes, the experience.

"The most important thing is to enjoy the moment," he said. "I am not thinking ahead because then I would miss the present experience. Thinking about what will be leads to fears and trepidations, and therefore I am only thinking about the present. The process and the capability to enjoy are more important than the final score. Of course we are aiming to win, but that is a secondary goal."
