Dahan gets a blast from the past
By Moshe Harush
Tags: הוריקן

The victory celebration at Beitar/Shimshon Tel Aviv following its sensational State Cup win over Maccabi Tel Aviv on Tuesday night has sent Shlomi Dahan back to the past.

Yesterday, he watched the flock of cameramen and journalists trying to get a shot of the stars du jour at their modest training facility. Dahan could have briefed his teammates, as he has been there, in the spotlight. It was back when he culled his trade on the field at Borussia Dortmund along with the legendary Amos Sassi.

"I got flashbacks from the past," said Dahan. "Suddenly they remembered that I am here after I had disappeared from soccer's center stage. It reminded me of what I had forgotten, that the press coverage was an unseparable part of my career.

"If someone would have asked me 10 years ago where I would be another 10 years, I would never have thought to say I would be in the Liga Artzit [Third Division]."
