Bnot Hasharon completes comeback
By Arie Livnat

Ahead of last night's fifth and decisive semifinal playoff game between Elitzur Ramle and Ramat Hasharon, a poster was placed in the Ramat Hasharon locker room with the words "Money Time" written in large black letters and bills of all denominations affixed to it.

Ramle's coach, Eli Rabi, opted for a more aggressive method of motivating his players: If his players didn't do what he told them, he would break the clipboard on which he sketches out the plays.

Three minutes from the start of the game, Rabi had every reason to make good on his threat. His players were not closing down the rebounds and were making rookie mistakes. In a fit of pique, Rava threw a chair and then threw his clipboard. During the timeout he took minutes later, he screamed at his players for forcing him to waste a timeout for no good reason. From that moment on and until the final quarter, Ramat Hasharon did not manage to score a single point off of offensive rebounds.

By the end of the third quarter of last night's game, the score was tied at 56-56, and in the final quarter, Ramle took a 66-58 lead. A short-lived revival from Jia Perkins had allowed Ramat Hasharon to claw its way back into the game (66-65), but when Tatyana Troina fouled out with three minutes to go, Ramat Hasharon was left without a playmaker and Ramle cruise from there to a 74-67 victory and a place in the final.

In the second semifinal series, Bnot Hasharon completed an impressive comeback, overhauling a 2-0 series deficit to win the final game 98-84 and book its pace in the final against Ramle.
